Madden 09 Out Today... I Have A Pants Tent

The day every year where grown men around the country become children again is here. Yes, the latest edition of the Madden video game series is out, and supposedly better than ever.

IGN gave the Xbox 360 version an 8.8. Ditto for the PS3(I think it's the same review). And here is a kickass video review from IGN:

Pretty much every other review I come across is giving the game at least a "B", mostly "A". Fuck yeah.

I'll find out for myself just how good it is when I get my hands on it today, but I know I'll like it regardless. Giddy up.

Update(10:00 PM ET): To no surprise, this game rocks my socks off.

I love NCAA Football 09 and have been playing that like crazy of late, but the physics and realism of this game are just so much better. There's also some new elements that separate it from the previous years of Madden.

For example, right when you start the game, you have the option of doing all these tests to see how good you are at pass offense, rush offense, pass defense, etc.
After you do all of this for about 15 minutes, it determines what your skill level is.
So say you might be All-Pro as a passer, but run the ball like you are carrying 3 weeks worth of Taco Bell in your stomach. While you'd do just fine in one part of the game on the default All-Pro set up, you'd stink up the joint in the other. Well, these skill tests combine all of your talents(or lack there of) to create the perfect game difficulty. Furthermore, as you improve and whatnot as you keep playing, it will make the proper adjustments as to what your game difficulty should be.
The player ratings seem pretty accurate from what I've seen, and they have the Bears offense very accurate which makes my offensive attack about as exciting as doing algebra homework at a funeral.

Get this game, or at least rent it if you have a 360. I urge you. Plus, I want people to play on Xbox Live. The new online leagues feature could be some good times so let's get that bitch going.
