Bengals placed LB Keith Rivers (jaw) on injured reserve, ending his season.

Hines Ward's crackback block fractured Rivers' jaw in two places and the first-round pick had surgery Monday. Rivers finished his rookie season with 37 tackles (24 solo), one pick, and a forced fumble in seven starts. He will likely return as as three-down starting weak-side linebacker in 2009

Well, it certainly does not feel as funny as it did before this news. Hopefully Rivers will recover well, because the 2008 1st round pick has the potential to be a Pro Bowl linebacker in this league.
