In soccer you get a yellow card for flopping. You get penalized for it in hockey. There really isn't an equivalent in football. There isn't one in baseball.
The NBA might be a thug's game, but it is also a man's game. Players are bigger, stronger and faster than days of old. When a big strong guy makes contact with you, you might fall over. But if you act like you fall over then it's clearly a foul. Power forwards should be rewarded for being big and strong. When weaker players have the benefit of the flop you get only the benefit of being creative. Fuck that.
Wilt Chamberlain and Bill Russell used to destroy each other every game. With the flop its turned into a sissy's game underneath the hoop.
Look at Shaq as paradigm 1. Early in his career he was never called for offensive fouls. Last year 1 out of every 6 fouls committed by Shaq was offensive foul. Carmelo Anthony and Eddie Curry had even higher percentages.
Oh and Manu Ginobili: Fuck you most of all.
