Apparently if you don't live in Denver or your name is not LaLa the feats of Carmelo Anthony do not register on your sports radar.
In case you hadn't heard Melo scored 33 points IN ONE QUARTER last night against the Timberwolves.
33 points in one quarter happens to tie the NBA record set by George Gervin in 1978.
And you can find the story....as the 5th headline....on ESPN's NBA page. What about this doesn't seem right? The story isn't even on ESPN's main page.
NBA record. 33 points in one quarter.
Just for comparison, what would be made of this story if LeBron or Kobe accomplished the same feat? That isn't rhetorical.
I'll concede that it was a busy day in sport: The MLB winter meetings wrapped up, CC, J Rich trade, Putz trade, full docket of NBA games. But c'mon now.
