After missing 10 months due to an injured shoulder that required surgery, and struggling in previous tournaments since returning, Maria Sharapova finally got a tournament victory Saturday. The Thigh Goddess defeated Jelena Jankovic in the Toray Pan Pacific Final in Tokyo, Japan.
Jankovic injured her arm in the first set when Maria was up 5-2, and had to retire from the match, giving Sharapova a quick victory that she'll gladly take. Maria hadn't won a tournament since April of 2008.
Once the thigh magic gets going, watch out. Look for Maria to start kicking some serious ass and climb closer to the #1 ranking she had not long before the injury.
