I just noticed this tweet from Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal, who actually provides some useful information when he isn't hating on bloggers:

That's Hairston as in Jerry... Hairston... Junior! That's the deal he's signing with the San Diego Padres. Millions of dollars for a utility man that has a career .701 OPS(it's much worse if you take away his 2008 and 2009 home games at Great American Ballpark, which might as well be a Little League field) and will be turning 34 in March. What a country!
I'll give it to him though- Hairston is one of the best in the history of baseball at hitting foul balls down the left field line. He'll keep the Petco Park attendees seated in that area a huge part of the action.
