Well, there’s a video game being released(for PS3, XBOX 360, and PSP) on the ninth of this month called “Dante’s Inferno”, but the big news related to this, is they’re running a spot during the Super Bowl (which you can see early at www.dantesinferno.com ), which as we all know, costs a pretty penny.
A lot of people criticize graphics, features, and downloadable content, and while this game seems to be lacking (just a little) in these areas, this game seems to have a decent storyline and is essentially a third-person bash ‘em up game, such as Devil May Cry or even Bayonetta. This game is not trying to split the atom, but essentially give you a loose adaption of Dante’s Inferno, while rapidly tapping buttons and yelling at your television in an all-around fun gaming experience.
The concern I have for this game, and the studios associated with it (EA, makers of the Madden franchise, and Visceral), is that BioShock 2, and Dark Void (another highly anticipated game) are being released on the same day and could hinder this game’s exposure. But, with the power of Super Bowl ads, maybe that won't be a major issue.
Anyway, here's a brief description of the game:
Dante's Inferno is very loosely based on the first part of Dante's Divine Comedy. The player controls Dante, a veteran of the Third Crusade who chases his beloved Beatrice and attempts to free her soul from Lucifer, who needs to wed a heaven-bound soul to break free of Hell and make another attempt to take over the Throne of God. As his pursuit takes him through the monstrous entities within the nine Circles of Hell to save Beatrice, Dante must face his own sins, his family's past and his war crimes.Link(Wikipedia)
As I mentioned, the gameplay looks similar to what you would see in Devil May Cry. Those of you that have played the Devil May Cry series will surely recognize that here...

And when you have a Super Bowl trailer with a guy chasing the soul of his wife, jumping into hell, slaying demons on the way down with “Ain’t No Sunshine” by Bill Withers playing…I’m all in.
