Week 8's Best
QB: Peyton Manning... 433 yards, 3 touchdowns, and no interceptions at Houston in week one. He's going to be without Dallas Clark(for the whole season) and Austin Collie, but he'll still kick ass against what has been by far the worst secondary in the NFL.
RB: Frank Gore... The Broncos were absolutely killed on the ground by Darren McFadden and Michael Bush in week seven's embarrassing loss to the Raiders. Troy Smith starts at quarterback for the 49ers, and expect the 49ers to play it safe with him. Frank Gore should get 25+ carries for 100+ yards.
WR: Reggie Wayne... Peyton's going to look his way like crazy, and the Texans haven't been able to stop anybody's passing game.
TE: Antonio Gates... Eight touchdowns in seven games.
K: Rob Bironas... Double-digit fantasy points in each of the last five weeks. Rare you see such fantasy reliability from a kicker.
D/ST: New York Jets... Aaron Rodgers has thrown nine interceptions already, and the Packers' running game is pure crap.
Sleeper Picks
QB: Josh Freeman... Quietly been a solid fantasy performer, and he gets the Cardinals' #21 pass defense. I like him for 15+ fantasy points this week.
RB: Mike Hart... The Colts are going to be in the red zone frequently, and he could get the majority of the carries with Joseph Addai hurt.
WR: Pierre Garcon... Yep, another Colt. With Austin Collie out, he should be Peyton's #2 target.
TE: Tony Moeaki... The Bills are allowing a league-worst 13.3 fantasy points to tight ends.
K: Jason Hanson... 44 fantasy points over his last three games, and his Lions get a bad Washington defense, at home, in a dome. Good ingredients for a good performance.
D/ST: Tampa Bay Buccaneers... I like any defense against Max Hall until he proves I shouldn't.
Shit Picks
QB: Mark Sanchez... He's tailed off since his terrific start and the Packers have a solid pass defense that has picked off 10 passes.
RB: Tim Hightower... Beanie Wells is apparently taking his starting job. He's not even a good flex option.
WR: Mike Williams(Seahawks)... Double-digit catches each of the last two weeks. Nnamdi Asomugha and company won't let that happen again.
TE: Marcedes Lewis... Cowboys are allowing just 4.3 points to tight ends, and the Jaguars' quarterback situation is a mess right now.
K: Ryan Succop... The Chiefs are going to move the ball just fine against the pathetic Bills. The problem is they'll be scoring touchdowns instead of settling for three.
D/ST: Minnesota Vikings... The Patriots' passing attack will have success against a susceptible Vikings secondary.
My week 7 picks(Points based on standard scoring systems; Green indicates a notably good pick; Red indicates a notably bad pick):
Best: Drew Brees(14 points), Chris Johnson(6 points), Miles Austin(3 points), Antonio Gates(11 points), Rob Bironas(14 points), Baltimore Ravens(5 points).
Sleepers: Matt Cassel(15 points), Ryan Mathews(1 point), Danario Alexander(0 points), Benjamin Watson(1 point), Mike Nugent(7 points), Seattle Seahawks(16 points).
Shit: Donovan McNabb(8 points), Fred Jackson(7 points), Roy Williams(0 points), Chris Cooley(5 points), Josh Scobee(8 points), San Diego Chargers(3 points).
