Ilya Kovalchuk, who just signed a 15-year, $100 contract this past offseason with the Devils, had his turn in a shootout with the Devils-Sabres game on the line last night. The Sabres were up 2-1 in the overtime shootout, and Kovalchuk needed to score a goal to extend the shootout.
