Major League Baseball and Anheuser-Busch have reached a multi-year deal to keep Budweiser as the official beer sponsor of Major League Baseball, as well as the sponsor of 26 of the 30 Major League teams. This will continue a 30-year relationship between MLB and Anheuser-Busch.

And that's quite remarkable when you consider that just last month, Anheuser-Busch sued MLB. Via The New York Times:

Tim Brosnan, a league executive vice president, said "We have made significant progress with Anheuser-Busch and look forward to working together on planning for the 2011 season."

Anheuser, part of Anheuser-Busch InBev NV, had sued Major League Baseball on November 12, accusing it of reneging on a written agreement to renew the sponsorship.

It alleged that Brosnan had demanded a rights fee "several times" higher after the maker of Budweiser and Bud Light replaced Coors in May as official beer sponsor of the National Football League, starting in 2011.

There's no word yet on the details of the contract, but there's little doubt that the deal will be lengthy and involve a lot of money. I mean A LOT of money.

With Anheuser-Busch having the official beer sponsors for both MLB and NFL, it will be interesting to see how MillerCoors responds.

DeSean Jackson became the first player in NFL history to win a game with a punt return touchdown yesterday in his Eagles' incredible 38-31 come-from-behind victory over the New York Giants at New Meadowlands Stadium. Yep, Jose Canseco Twitter time again.

Today Canseco's going on about how steroids don't make an athlete great, but rather talent does. And he's certainly right; I've spent much time arguing this myself in the past.

Steroids obviously can help greatly for a sport like baseball as we've seen much over the last 20 years, but just because you're ridiculously strong, doesn't mean you can have the hand-eye coordination to hit a 100 mph fastball, the patience to lay off a pitch just out of the strike zone, or the ability to hit nasty a dirty breaking ball. That's why Barry Bonds was an amazing player, regardless of his use of performance-enhancing substances.

Now, getting that out of the way, the way Canseco went about getting his point across was a bit of a dick move, and the only reason I'm making this post. Here's what he had to say:

The last time we had a Canseco update, it was about him giving me a hug. Awwwwwww.

Andy Avgi is a star senior basketball player at Woodburn High School in Oregon. The 6'6", 240-pound power forward was named to the 5A All-State team the previous two seasons.

So, Avgi is a damn good high school basketball player... but I'm not going to give him too much credit for breaking the backboard at Putnam High School last Saturday. This backboard is weak:



That was just your usual two-handed dunk from a fairly big guy. And that's not the only video of a Putnam High School gym backboard being shattered. Minnesota Timberwolves' star power forward, Kevin Love, also broke a backboard there with a dunk a few years ago:

The Oregon Ducks are known for their 60 billion different uniform combinations, thanks to Nike. Okay, that number's probably not accurate, but it couldn't be too far off.

For their BCS National Championship Game against the Auburn Tigers, the Ducks are really going with an interesting look. The uniforms contain a highlighter/neon yellow-green color on the entire socks, and blend in to the top half of their shoes:


I'm not still not sure how I feel about these uniforms. What do you think?

All I know is I'm going to get a headache watching on HD when they zoom in on those socks/shoes.

Actors Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly have teamed up for much great work in the past, in hilarious films such as Step Brothers and Talladega Nights.

The latest work these guys did together was a reenactment of the famous "Peace On Earth/Little Drummer Boy" holiday video that Bing Crosby and David Bowie did No, seriously- Will Ferrell plays the role of Bowie, and John C. Reilly plays the role of Crosby.

This was about the last thing I expected Ferrell and Reilly to do together, but they actually did quite a good job with the song and their portrayal of Bowie and Crosby.

Today, the New York Yankees and Derek Jeter agreed to a three-year, $51 million contract, with an $8 million player option for the fourth year.

Of course, that was after reports came out over the last few weeks that Jeter wanted as much as $24 million per season. Yes, $24 million per season for a 36-year-old, declining shortstop that is coming off of a .710 OPS season. The Yankees understandably were not going to let that happen, and the deal Jeter ended up getting is still much more than a player of his current talent deserves. He got a lot of money just out of a way of loyalty thanks to his incredible career with the Yankees, and because he's still a fan-favorite that will help with things such as merchandise sales.

But, Jeter wasn't happy that these rumors of his insanely high contract demands became public, and addressed that today in the press conference about his new contract. It was quite uncomfortable(Note: MLB may take this down thanks to their stupid restrictions, so let me know if the video isn't working):
