According to Deadline.Com, a pair of writers have been hired by Universal Pictures to write the script for a fourth installment in the Jurassic Park series, and Steven Spielberg is set to be one of the film's producers:
While Universal Pictures has been trying all summer to generate new franchises, the studio is getting moving with the fourth installment of its biggest one, Jurassic Park. Universal is setting Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver to write the script for the fourth film, which will be produced by Steven Spielberg and Kathleen Kennedy. The original Jurassic Park was of course freaking awesome, but the sequels were disappointments (Jurassic Park 3 in particular was a crapfest).
Deadline adds, "Universal is rereleasing the original film in 3D on July 19, 2013." That movie could definitely be a lot of fun to watch in 3D,

Introducing Globe's ELECTRIC BLUE HEAVEN, a short, conceptual film featuring Dion Agius in the WORLD'S BEST WAVE POOL!
A few weeks back, Dion Agius and crew embarked on a journey to the Middle East. A journey for waves. A journey that would bring Dion to unleash on the world's best man made wave. A studio for surfing. Smack in the middle of a desert mountain range in a foreign land.
There was a concept. A concept involving 10 Russian models, a Lamborghini, and Dion boosting virtually every air in the book, plus a couple new ones. Electric blue water contrasting against wild mountainous backdrops.
A story was captured. Captured through the lenses of Joe G, DJ Struntz, Beren Hall, and Grady Archbold. Motion & Still. Film & HD. The story will be told through the pages of our global media partners and through this short film directed by Joe G.

Well, shit: Jim Carrey backs out of 'Dumb and Dumber' sequel
Posted by Matt Clapp | 6/20/2012 05:48:00 PM | Dumb And Dumber, Dumb And Dumber 2, Jeff Daniels, Jim Carrey, Lloyd Christmas, Movies
In April, we shared the awesome news that a sequel to Dumb and Dumber (my favorite movie) was in the works. And it may still be in the works... but without Jim Carrey:
According to sources, Carrey grew increasingly frustrated by New Line and Warner Brothers, who he felt showed a lack of enthusiasm regarding the project.
A sentiment seemingly reinforced by a statement exclusively obtained when ETOnline reached out to the actor's publicist for comment. In addition to confirming the story, Carrey exclusively tells ETOnline, "I would have thought Dumb and Dumber To was a no-brainer, after all it's implied in the title."
Source: ET Online
It sure sounds like Carrey could still be convinced to do the movie if New Line and Warner Brothers could show that they give a damn about it. Get it together, asshats.

And as awesome as it is now, it was even better during the Bulls' dynasty years, with Ray Clay as the PA announcer.
I've always said that it would freaking awesome to hire Clay to do his lineup intros at an event such as a wedding, and somebody else apparently felt the same way.

Cain becomes just the 22nd pitcher in MLB history to toss a perfecto, and it's the first one thrown in Giants history. So... it's kind of a big deal.
Cain just got a five-year, $112.5 million contract extension in April, so if I'm Blanco, I'm definitely keeping that in mind right now. He should at least be getting free dinners for a while.

Just when we thought fast food news could not get any more exciting, Burger King announced that it will be offering a bacon sundae throughout the U.S. this summer. The dessert — a 510 calorie monstrosity featuring both a whole strip of bacon and bacon crumbles atop a fudge and caramel sundae — was released in April in Nashville to reasonable fanfare, but will now receive a wide release as part of Burger King’s expanded summer menu.
Burger King first saw success for its bacon sundae earlier this year when it “took Nashville, TN by storm,” according to a company press release. The cold treat — which boasts 8 grams of fat and 61 grams of sugar — is described in the release as a “sweet and savory dessert [featuring] rich and creamy vanilla soft serve, drizzled with chocolate fudge, caramel and topped with bacon crumbles, complete with a thick-cut, hardwood smoked bacon garnish.”
I like bacon and a caramel/fudge sundae as much as the next guy but I don't know what to make of this. I mean, the fact that it's actually being sold at one of the biggest fast food chains in the world is is quite hilariously awesome. No doubt about that whatsoever. But I'm just not sure about how well bacon could taste on top of an ice cream sundae. I guess there's only one way to find out.

Maria Sharapova defeated/dominated Petra Kvitova 6-3, 6-3 in the French Open semifinals on Thursday to advance on to the French Open final, where she'll face 21st-seeded Sara Errani on Saturday.
With this victory, Maria is now ranked #1 in women's tennis, for the first time since June 2008. Maria was cruising along in those days before getting shoulder surgery, but it appears she's finally back to kickass form.
Here's what Maria had to say about reclaiming the #1 world ranking:
"It's pretty special," Sharapova said. "A few years ago after my shoulder surgery, I don't know if I had a ranking, but it was over 100. And I thought 'Well, I did it one time. So maybe again, I can try to do it.' "

If Maria wins on Saturday, she will have completed a career Grand Slam (she won Wimbledon in 2004, the U.S. Open in 2006, and the Australian Open in 2008).

Madden greatly needed an overhaul to the engine like this. The gameplay was feeling the same for about a decade straight.

The description on the YouTube page of the video (which is for some reason just now making the rounds on the interwebs) you're about to see:
The young Mike Tyson, before his professional boxing days (while still an amateur) shadowboxing. This clip is not sped up. It just goes to show how fast and dangerous Mike Tyson really was!
And the video:
He was repeatedly caught committing petty crimes and fighting those who ridiculed his high-pitched voice and lisp. By the age of 13, he had been arrested 38 times. He ended up at the Tryon School for Boys in Johnstown, New York. It was at the school that Tyson's emerging boxing ability was discovered by Bobby Stewart, a juvenile detention center counselor and former boxer. Stewart considered Tyson to be an outstanding fighter and trained him for a few months before introducing him to Cus D'Amato.
Tyson was later removed from the reform school by Cus D'Amato. Kevin Rooney also trained Tyson, and he was occasionally assisted by Teddy Atlas, although he was dismissed by D'Amato when Tyson was 15. Rooney eventually took over all training duties for the young fighter.

And the video:
With the knowledge that Atlas is training Tyson, we can guess this video was filmed in the very early 80s, when Tyson was 14 or 15 (he was born on June 30, 1966). From Tyson's Wikipedia page:

At that age, Tyson competed as an amateur in the Junior Olympic Games (and won the gold medal twice). He made his professional debut in 1985, at the age of 18.
