Word recently got out that the NBA's New Orleans Hornets would be changing their name to the New Orleans Pelicans for the 2013-2014 season. And on Thursday, the Hornets held a press conference to officially announce/confirm the name change, and unveil the Pelicans logo.

Here's the logo:

Meh. We'll have to see what the uniforms look like, but the logo and colors looks like a mash-up of the 1993-2003 Denver Nugget uniforms, the current Atlanta Hawks uniforms, and pilot wings pins. 

Also, I'm still just having a hard time wrapping my head around the idea that there's going to be an NBA team called the Pelicans. That's going to be a hard sell for Anthony Davis when he's a free agent in a few years.
