JaMarcus Russell is one of the biggest busts in NFL history after being the No. 1 overall pick by the Oakland Raiders in the 2007 NFL Draft. From 2007-2009, the quarterback out of LSU threw 18 touchdowns and 23 interceptions, while having a quarterback rating of 65.2 and completion percentage of 52.1.
And my favorite stat: Russell had 25 fumbles in those three years. So, 18 touchdown passes, 25 fumbles. Sweet Jesus.
By all accounts, Russell got lazier and fatter by the day. With his awful work ethic and ballooning body, combined with his crappy performance on the field, the Raiders had no choice but to cut him loose before the 2010 season even began.
And it really says a lot that nobody has given him a roster spot since. I mean, think about it- We're talking about a 6'6", cannon-armed quarterback that was the No. 1 overall pick just three years before the Raiders let him go. Usually such guys get second chances, especially at the most important position in all of sports. But, again- Lazy, fat, etc.
Well, Russell is currently still over 300 pounds... but is attempting an NFL comeback. Not making this up. Proof, from NFL.Com/NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport:
Best Mobile-based news of the week: JaMarcus Russell is making a comeback! No lie. At 305 lbs now, hoping for 265. May make a Combine cameoLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.

But seriously, maybe Russell is finally figuring it out and is committed to working hard and getting his body in shape, but... the fact he's still 305 pounds certainly doesn't have me sold that much is going to change anytime soon.
