That awkward moment when you're waiting for your favorite NBA player to run out of the tunnel for the game and soon find out that the player has been traded.

That's a shame.

Also of note, the open-mouthed stare of disbelief from the woman next to him:

Recently I purchased Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD for $14.99 on the Playstation Store, and I've been playing the hell out of it (it's well worth the purchase if you're a fan of the Tony Hawk games, by the way). However, I don't think I'll ever reach a point where I'm anywhere close to being as good at the game as YouTube user GeorgeThePlushie is at Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3, as you'll see in the video below.

First, here's what GeorgeThePlushie had to say about the video:

This is a single segment run of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 on PC done BY HAND; no cheats or external tools were used in the making of this run. The goal is just to medal the 3 competitions.
Q: Why not complete everything? You skipped a lot of goals and didn't even go to Cruise Ship.
A: It makes for an interesting and challenging route. This category is kind of grandfathered into existence by THPS1&2 going into the credits after getting 3 medals in those games. Besides, there's nothing stopping you or anyone else from doing an All Goals/All Golds or a 100% run.
Q: This seems like TAS quality. How can I be sure you're not cheating?
A: This run was a long time coming. I have multiple older runs uploaded to my channel, showing the progression of the route and my getting better at certain things in the run. The run is not absent of mistakes--they're there if you know what to look for. The game is being played on the PC version--there are obvious tells throughout the run to prove it (1.01 in the bottom-left corner on the main menu, having access to Network Play, "Press O to Continue" instead of a controller's button image, high resolution). The only version that I'm positive can be TASed at the moment is the Gamecube version. If this was TASed it would be faster--even if it was a bad TAS.
Q: How is the game timed?
A: The game is timed in real time starting from the moment the player gains control to the moment End Competition is selected in Tokyo. Player Control actually begins about half a second to a second later than it looks--you can't control your character while they're doing the animation to get on the board. For fairness between console and PC versions, loading times are not counted.

And the video:

Absolutely insane. Of course, my first reaction was, "Well somebody had some free time on their hands." I mean, really, is it possible this dude has been playing the game on the reg since it came out in 2001? It might take that long to master it as he has. Whatever the case, I'm still quite impressed.

Whenever my Colorado State Rams do something awesome, you'd better believe that I'm going to show it off right here on the Thigh. And on Wednesday night in Fort Collins, CSU actually did a few awesome things:

1. They defeated conference opponent Boise State 77-57, to improve to 17-4 overall, and 4-2 in Mountain West play.

2. They won their 25th straight home game, the fourth-longest home winning streak in the country.

3. 6'2" senior point guard Dorian Green, who was last week's Mountain West Player of the Week, threw down this posterizing dunk:

Not quite as good as the dunk that fellow Mountain West point guard Deonte Burton of Nevada threw down on Tuesday night, but still pretty damn impressive.

Last night I was apparently one of the very few people on the planet watching the Mountain West college hoops game between UNLV-Nevada on CBS Sports Network. I say that because one of the best dunks I've seen all season took place, I was going nuts about it on Twitter... and nobody else was reacting at all (Sad face). Additionally, there was no video to be found of the play anywhere online in the few hours after it happened.

Well, as I knew would be the case, the dunk landed on SportsCenter's Top 10, and our buddy Alex Friedman (@DiehardSport) of DiehardSport.Com was able to get the SportsCenter video onto YouTube.

But enough of my yapping... check out the insane dunk from Nevada 6'1" point guard Deonte Burton on an inbounds alley-oop pass.

The good news for Novak Djokovic in the first set of the Australian Open final against Andy Murray- He won this insane point, which was one of the most unbelievable points of the entire tournament:

The bad news for Djokovic- He lost the set, 7-6, after being up 6-5. Frankly, he looked downright awful in the final two games of the set.

As I write this, it's all even at 2-2 in the second set. I'll honestly be surprised if this doesn't go at least four sets one way or the other.

UPDATE: Despite losing the first set, Djokovic went on to dominate the rest of the match, winning the second set 7-6, the third set 6-3, and the fourth set 6-2. That's three straight Australian Open titles for the 25-year-old Serbian. Pretty unbelievable with Murray, Roger Federer, and Rafael Nadal (aside from this year) around in that time. What a player.

When I first saw that tip-in from Georgetown sophmore forward Aaron Bowen, I just sat in front of the TV with my jaw dropped for about the next minute. I then searched the interwebs for a video or GIF for the next few hours after the play, but didn't find anything until that above GIF (thanks to @CasualHoya) just now.

Oh, and I didn't realize until just reading a recap of the game that Bowen's tip-in (which occurred with 3:38 remaining) ended up being the GAME-WINNING SHOT in Georgetown's 53-51 upset victory over No. 5 Louisville, as neither team made another field goal after that. Not a bad game-winning shot, right?

Bowen told the Washington Examiner, "I just went in for the rebound, and I was just blessed that it went in."

Teammate Markel Starks, who had 17 points for the Hoyas in the win, said, "As soon as we went in the locker room, I told him I've never seen anything like that. I tell him all the time that he's probably one of the most athletic people on this planet. When the shot went up, he just came out of nowhere. He just tipped it, and it was unbelievable."

Unbelievable indeed.

20-year-old Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving is having an awesome second campaign in the NBA, and he's been especially awesome over the last week.

In the last week, when Irving was also named to his first All-Star Game, he scored 40 points (16-24 FG, .667%; 7-7 FT) in a win against the Celtics, 35 points in a win against the Bucks (12-17 FG, .706%; 9-9 FT), and 32 points (13-26 FG; 3-4 FT) on Saturday night in a win against the Raptors.

And in the Raptors game, Irving had 29 points with the Cavs down two in the final seconds. That was until he hit a game-winning three with 00.7 left on the clock:

Cold blooded. Mr. Irving is going to be a special one.

Tom Brady's NFL season ended earlier than anticipated when the Baltimore Ravens went into Foxborough and stunned the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship on Sunday.

But, even though Brady is disappointed in the loss, I'm pretty sure he'll go on just fine. I mean, for one, he's married to Gisele. And now he gets to live with her in the awesome new mansion you see above.

The mansion, which cost $20 million, has been under construction for three years.

Here's more from the Detroit Free-Press:
Among the many features in its 22,000 square feet are a resort-style pool, massive play area for children and a common medieval fortification system.
What is this "medieval fortification system" they speak of? A moat. Seriously, the house has a moat:

Crazy.

Word recently got out that the NBA's New Orleans Hornets would be changing their name to the New Orleans Pelicans for the 2013-2014 season. And on Thursday, the Hornets held a press conference to officially announce/confirm the name change, and unveil the Pelicans logo.

Here's the logo:

Meh. We'll have to see what the uniforms look like, but the logo and colors looks like a mash-up of the 1993-2003 Denver Nugget uniforms, the current Atlanta Hawks uniforms, and pilot wings pins.

Also, I'm still just having a hard time wrapping my head around the idea that there's going to be an NBA team called the Pelicans. That's going to be a hard sell for Anthony Davis when he's a free agent in a few years.

So I came across the Twitter page of De'Anthony Thomas last night, and my oh my, was that a fantastic discovery.

If you're unaware of who Thomas is, he's a star running back/wide receiver/returner (he's arguably the most electrifying player in college football) that just finished his sophomore season at the University of Oregon. And the first things I learned about Thomas from his Twitter page are that he likes to type in all caps and really, really likes Dairy Queen:

Then today, those of us following Thomas on Twitter learned that he is also a big fan of Pornhub, as he asked if it would be gross if he followed the porn site on Twitter:

Dairy Queen and porn. Quite a dynamic duo.

Maria Sharapova faces the No. 6-seeded Li Na in the semifinals of the Australian Open on Wednesday. This is Li Na, and one of her serves from the quarterfinals:

Spectacularly awful. If you're into the world of sports betting online or perhaps just like to take a gander at the sports betting lines frequently as I do, you're likely aware that Maria is currently a big favorite over Li. With serves like that, you can understand why.

In all seriousness, Li is a very good player and should bring a tough challenge for Maria, but we still fully believe in the Thigh Goddess to pull through.

JaMarcus Russell is one of the biggest busts in NFL history after being the No. 1 overall pick by the Oakland Raiders in the 2007 NFL Draft. From 2007-2009, the quarterback out of LSU threw 18 touchdowns and 23 interceptions, while having a quarterback rating of 65.2 and completion percentage of 52.1.

And my favorite stat: Russell had 25 fumbles in those three years. So, 18 touchdown passes, 25 fumbles. Sweet Jesus.

By all accounts, Russell got lazier and fatter by the day. With his awful work ethic and ballooning body, combined with his crappy performance on the field, the Raiders had no choice but to cut him loose before the 2010 season even began.

And it really says a lot that nobody has given him a roster spot since. I mean, think about it- We're talking about a 6'6", cannon-armed quarterback that was the No. 1 overall pick just three years before the Raiders let him go. Usually such guys get second chances, especially at the most important position in all of sports. But, again- Lazy, fat, etc.

Well, Russell is currently still over 300 pounds... but is attempting an NFL comeback. Not making this up. Proof, from NFL.Com/NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport:
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.

But seriously, maybe Russell is finally figuring it out and is committed to working hard and getting his body in shape, but... the fact he's still 305 pounds certainly doesn't have me sold that much is going to change anytime soon.

19-year-old American Sloane Stephens just knocked off 15-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open.

Serena won the first set 6-3, but injured her back in the second set, and didn't look like herself for the rest of the match. Sloane would win the final two sets, 7-5, 6-3, to move on to the semifinals.

And after one point in the third game of the third set, Serena was particularly upset. RACQUET SMASH:

In January 2011, Late Night With Jimmy Fallon released the 'Pro Bowl Shuffle', a parody music video inspired of course by the 1985 Chicago Bears' 'Super Bowl Shuffle'.

With the 2013 NFL Pro Bowl coming up on Sunday (not that anybody cares), I figured it would be a nice time to dig up the 'Pro Bowl Shuffle'.

Here's the video, which includes Will Arnett as Brett Favre, Jimmy Fallon as Tom Brady, and Horatio Sanz as Troy Polamalu (and you can read the lyrics below the video):

Brett Favre (Will Arnett)
Well they call me Brett and I like to dance
Then I text you a picture of what's in my pants
11 Pro Bowls cuz I love to win
Been with more pro teams than a Kardashian
If you hear me say, that I'm retired
that just means I'm currently for hire
I shop at sears and I'm on a roll
Shufflin' on down to another Pro Bowl

Tom Brady (Jimmy Fallon)
I'm the funky QB they call Tom Brady
if you saw me from the back, you'd think I was a lady
cuz my hair's so long that it might deceive ya
Get it cut the same place as Justin Bieber
All-American with looks to boot
Every night I see Gisele in her birthday suit
Like Homer Simpson got a face full of stubble
So I look good doing the Pro Bowl shuffle

Michael Vick (Bashir)
A-bow-wow-wow-yippee yo yippee yay
It's your boy Mike Vick here to save the day
Had to go to jail cuz my homeboy snitched
Then learned a new meaning for the word *WHISTLE*
I could run it or throw it, to score a goal
I just wish they'd let me play in the Puppy Bowl
Stop barking bad about me or you'll get the muzzle
Cuz I just wanna do the Pro Bowl shuffle

Troy Polamalu (Horatio Sanz)
Well they call me Troy Polamalu
and spelling my name is hard to do
If you really want, to be, just like me
Well use more shampoo than a sorority
I'll hit you so hard, I'll rock your world
My hair looks like a big-ass jheri curl
I do the Pro-Bowl shuffle with a flip Then I whip my hair like Willow Smith

Eli Manning (A.D. Miles)
Eli Manning in the house
the same place I'll be watching the Super Bowl this year
You know my brother Peyton, I'm sure you do
I've been livin' in his shadow since I was two
Playing for Giants is pretty neat
I love 'em even more than Rex Ryan loves feet
I won the Super Bowl a few years ago
Now the Pro Bowl shuffle is all I know

Syracuse guard Michael Carter-Williams is a stud. The Chicago Blackhawks and Phoenix Coyotes are currently in a game that has officially reached BANANAS status on the NHL's second day of games in the 2013 season.

As I write this, the Blackhawks lead 6-4 in the third period, and in one stretch during the third period, three goals were scored in 90 seconds. The last goal came from Blackhawks center Dave Bolland, and Coyotes goalie Mike Smith was quite angry about it. The Atlanta Hawks on Monday night against the Chicago Bulls had the most pathetic effort offensively of any team I've ever watched play basketball, at any level (at least given what should be expected at each level).

The Hawks scored a total of 58 points, the lowest amount of points the Bulls have allowed in franchise history. It was particularly awful in the first half, when the Hawks scored just 20 points, and only FIVE points in the second quarter. Hell, the Bulls had more rebounds (59) than the Hawks had points.

And if things weren't already bad enough for the Atlanta squad on this night, the Bulls' Taj Gibson embarrassed the Hawks' Anthony Tolliver with this posterizing dunk:

In the Broncos-Ravens AFC Divisional round game Saturday, Denver's Trindon Holliday became the first player in NFL postseason history to have both a kick return touchdown and punt return touchdown, in the same game.

Here's Holliday's punt return touchdown, which was for 90 yards in the first quarter to give the Broncos a 7-0 lead (before the Broncos' even had an offensive possession):

And here's the kick return touchdown, which was for 104 yards, to break a 21-21 tie at the beginning of the second half:

Holliday, who at 5'5" is the shortest player in the NFL, was a track star and kick return star at LSU, before being waived by the Texans in October (after being with them since 2010). The Broncos certainly thank the Texans for that, as including today's returns, Holliday now has four return touchdowns since becoming a Bronco. And the two today will be remembered for a very long time if the Broncos go on to to win the Super Bowl.
\
UPDATE: Well, even with those returns, it still wasn't enough for the Broncos. So forget the last sentence I wrote in the original post.

Um, holy crap. He actually did the off-the-glass dunk in a real game. To start conference play, even, for the No. 16 Aztecs. That's a definite dunk of the year candidate... and a type of play San Diego State head coach Steve Fisher surely doesn't want to see attempted in a game again.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports that Robert Griffin III will undergo a full knee reconstruction after Dr. James Andrews diagnosed the star Redskins' quarterback with a complete tear of his right ACL and LCL. Andrews will perform the surgery in approximately six hours:

Just absolutely awful news for the star quarterback (and for us football fans that love watching him play), but it's expected that he'll be good to go for the start of the 2013 NFL season. Whether or not this will effect RG3's style of play (and what he can physically do) remains to be seen, but players tend to bounce back well from ACL surgeries in this day and age. Vikings star running back and possible 2012 NFL MVP, Adrian Peterson, is obviously a prime example of that.

And RG3's already bounced back well from an ACL surgery in the past, as Rotoworld points out:

At Baylor, Griffin did bounce back from 2009 ACL surgery to complete 67 percent of his passes with a 22:8 TD-to-INT ratio and eight rushing scores in 2010.
You know Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan is now going to really take heat for his decision to let RG3 play (or at least let RG3 play as long as he did) in the Redskins' playoff loss to the Seahawks on Sunday.

In July 2010, I wrote about the site from Field of Dreams being up for sale. Here's part of what I said in the post:

And is it just me, or does $5.4 million seem a bit "cheap" for a beautiful baseball field, on a farm, that has dead baseball legends playing on it? Even though it's located in Dyersville freaking Iowa, I feel like you could make that money back in no time. Charge admission and hold some awesome events there. People will most definitely come.

Well, the property was finally sold this week... for $3.4 million. So, a full $2 million less than that $5.4 million listing price.

Who bought it? Go the Distance Baseball LLC, an investor group that includes MLB Hall of Famer Wade Boggs.

The group plans to turn the 193-acre site into a $38-million, 24-field youth baseball and softball complex known as All-Star Ballpark Heaven (a name that may even further confuse Shoeless Joe Jackson), and there will also be an indoor training center on site. I'm assuming that indoor training center will have batting cages, various hitting drill stations (soft toss, tees, etc.) pitching mounds, a weight room, and maybe a turf infield. Hey, maybe Boggs will even serve as a hitting and fielding instructor there on occasion too.

The group hopes that All-Star Ballpark Heaven will be ready to open in 2014. And I doubt it takes very long after that for the site to become one of the top baseball and softball tournament spots in the midwest.

Nettleton (Arkansas) High School sophomore guard Victor Dukes had an amazing posterizing dunk at the NEA Invitational (hosted at Arkansas State University) on New Year's Eve.

Watch Dukes rise like he's climbing a ladder on this ridiculous dunk:

South Carolina's Jadeveon Clowney is an absolute BEAST. The 6'6", 256-pound defensive end would be a virtual lock to be the No. 1 pick in the 2013 NFL Draft... if he were eligible to enter the draft yet. You see, he's only a sophomore. But, barring injury (or an Andrew Luck/RG3 talent emerging at quarterback next year), he'll be the top pick of the 2014 draft.

And in South Carolina's Outback Bowl victory over Michigan on Tuesday, Clowney showed why he'll be the top pick of that draft, and likely terrorize NFL backfields for the next decade.

Just watch this play (a lot):

Insane. Ridiculous burst off the line; bone-crushing hit; great job to recover the fumble.
Kansas City Chiefs general manager Scott Pioli has to be thinking, "Dammit Goodell! Let this guy be draft-eligible!"
